TIA NANI: NARRATED BY ADAN
2024
This project was inspired by spontaneous voice recordings of my nine-year-old nephew. Given the prompt to describe me in his own words, his charm and unfiltered perspective became the heart of this video. I translated his narrative into a playful visual language, using colors and designs that capture a child’s vibrant and playful point of view.
MIXED SHAPES AND COLORS
2024
After finding a royalty-free song I resonated with, I wanted to work with its beats and play with cascading shapes, so I could create a seamless video that further emphasises the strong BPMs in the song.
A TYPOGRAPHIC DIALOGUE
2024
I was tasked to create a typographic dialogue by using two passages: The first chapter of “The Shape of Design” by Frank Chimero and “How Can We Sometimes Keep Reading, But Not Understand Anything We Read?” by Ashish. The first was assigned and the latter was selected to reflect the universal feeling of reading on autopilot and not remembering what you have just read. My objective was to visualize the “mind wandering effect” throughout the book, prompting the reader to simultaneously be aware of their own mental drifts while engaging with both passages.
POSTER FOR A SOCIAL CAUSE
2023
This poster features a broken vase as a central symbol of gentrification in Mexico City, illustrating how the influx of new residents is impacting local communities and destroying their traditional way of life.
SAUSAGE RACE
2025
Inspired by the history of the Sausage Race during the Milwaukee Brewers' home games, I transformed a Wikipedia article, "Sausage Race"into a dynamic four-page editorial spread. Every image I incorporated was found on the internet, I only applied a grainy filter and cut out the chorizo photo to give it a cut out and scrapbook look. This project celebrates the quirks of this beloved tradition within the city of Milwaukee, with a highlighted focus on the infamous Chorizo addition.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
2025
As one of the design associates in my Publication Design class, I helped in designing the eighth issue of Full Bleed, a journal of art and literature, published by the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). With the help and direction from my professor, I was the sole designer to design the table of contents. This was the base design we all collectively agreed on that would best capture and highlight the stories within the journal. I wanted to dramatically highlight the manifestos, and by doing so, I enhanced the titles and added a highlighter streak behind each one. I was assigned to design the three titles—censorship, manifestos, and Ars Poetica—separately, in a way that best fits the aesthetic of the journal.
